Mr. Matthew Eby is presently Co-Founder and Partner of Tengram Capital Partners, a consumer private equity firm formed to invest in the consumer and retail sectors. He is responsible for originating, underwriting and monitoring of investments and co-manages the daily activities of the firm. He serves as Chairman of NEST Fragrances and Deva Curl and is a member of the Boards of Directors of Sequential Brands Group, Field & Stream, Carlos Falchi, Robert Graham and Laura Geller Beauty.

Prior to founding Tengram, he was the founder and Chief Investment Officer of JAWS Estates Capital, the private investment office of Barry Sternlicht and the Sternlicht family. In his capacity as CIO, he was responsible for investment and asset allocation decisions and recommendations across a broad spectrum of asset classes and investment strategies. During his tenure at JAWS, he invested in and led numerous transactions including investments in Field & Stream, Ellen Tracy, Joe's Jeans, Caribbean Joe, and Carlos Falchi. In 2009, on behalf of Starwood Capital Group, he led the Initial Public Offering of Starwood Property Trust (Ticker: STWD), a mortgage REIT focused on commercial real estate properties. The highly successful transaction raised over $930 million, making it the 3rd largest REIT IPO in history.

Prior to founding JAWS, he was an associate at Morgan Stanley where he helped to found a group designed to facilitate interaction between the Investment Banking Division and the High Net Worth and Retail Divisions. Before entering the investment industry, he served five years as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Sirocco (PC-6) and the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and was deployed to South America, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Harvard Business School. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, young son and daughter. He is active in charities supporting military veterans and their families.
